Sarah Jeanette Artistry works from the Dead Rose Salon space at 1625 Washington St NE, across from Larson Dental and next to Goodfellas barber shop. Street parking is available, with plenty of spaces a short walk away. The space has been newly remodeled, with several amenities meant for client comfort.

The salon aims to be a calm room where clients feel understood, valued and celebrated during their hair appointment. Each visit starts with a thorough consultation to learn about a client's lifestyle, personality and needs. Appointments are never double-booked or rushed, so each client has the stylist's full attention. A consultation is strongly recommended for new color clients and can be done virtually.

Haircolor is a major focus, from natural toned shades to vivid colors such as unicorn hair and punky tones. Services range from partial and full foils and hand-painted balayage to babylights, block color, bleach and toner work, corrective color and full bleach outs. Specialty color requires a completed consultation before booking. Other offerings include a keratin express treatment for texture control, an American wave perm, a molecular mending treatment, and weft extension installs with bump-ups and removal. Extension clients need a consultation first, which costs $50 and is deducted from the installation if booked.

Makeup and bridal work is a second strand of the business. Bridal hair, bridal makeup and bridal combo packages always include a trial run. Hair and makeup can be done in the salon or on site for brides, wedding parties and other events, with on-site service within 20 miles of 55408 carrying an extra $20 regardless of party size. Airbrush makeup is available for an upcharge on bridal makeup.

Prices include a 20 percent gratuity. Phone bookings are subject to a deposit. Cancellations or reschedules made after 48 hours, and no-shows, are charged 50 percent of the total booked services, with exceptions at the stylist's discretion. Clients more than 15 minutes late may have their appointment canceled or rescheduled. Products are exchange-only, and if a client is unhappy with a service, the stylist will work to correct it at no extra charge.
