About

The studio was established in 2014 and describes itself as a woman-owned small business. It sits on Russian Hill above Hyde Street and works by appointment only, presenting itself as a colon hydrotherapy studio for San Francisco.

Colon hydrotherapy, also called colonics, is done on the LIBBE system, which the studio calls the most advanced of the open systems. The LIBBE is an FDA-registered medical device. During a session the client can push, and the therapist does not press on the abdomen. The studio describes the method as thorough and gentle, and says insurance providers classify colonics as an extremely low-risk service.

Each session includes aromatherapy, a tummy warmer, tea, probiotics and electrolyte water, and the client has the treatment room to themselves. New clients begin with a 90-minute first visit, which is also required for anyone new to the LIBBE and includes a consent form and an overview of the process. Returning visits run 60 minutes, and 15 minutes can be added for $35, up to 90 minutes total.

Packages are bought in person at the studio, not online. They cannot be shared, are non-refundable, and regular packages do not expire. The New Client Special expires 60 days after purchase. Gift cards are sold as eGift cards in fixed amounts or a custom amount.

Appointments are not accepted more than 10 minutes late, and a visit cannot be cancelled because a client has started their period. Clients with certain listed medical conditions need a doctor's note before booking. Street parking is available, so allow about ten minutes before 5 p.m. and about twenty minutes after. The Washington Street garage at 1320 Washington is about a three-minute walk away.

The studio describes colonics as a gentle, thorough method, and the client controls the pace of pressure during the LIBBE session.
