Sam Palmer Hair is run by owner and licensed hairstylist Sam Palmer, who has worked as a licensed stylist since 2007 and is also part owner of Flaxen Salon Suites, where the studio is located at 81st and Harvard in Tulsa.

Bridal trials take place at the studio, usually one to one and a half hours and covering one style. Trials are recommended six to eight weeks before the wedding but are not required. Without one, extra time is set aside on the wedding day for a detailed consultation. Studio services are also available for bridal parties of one to three people.

The bride's style costs more than other party styles because it is more elaborate and takes about twice as long. A bridal style typically takes about an hour, and each guest is scheduled for 35 minutes, with 15 or more minutes added for guests with extensions or long or thick hair. Junior bridesmaids and bridesmaids share the same rate, and flower girl pricing applies to children 10 and under. Prices are final and do not change based on hair length or texture. Clean, fully dried hair is preferred for the bride and bridal party.

Booking a wedding date requires a signed contract and a $100 non-refundable, non-transferable retainer that is deducted from the final balance. Dates are not held without the retainer, so a trial alone does not secure one. The remaining balance and any added fees are due two weeks before the wedding, and any day-of add-ons must be paid before the stylist leaves. Weddings in the Tulsa area need at least four services, and weddings outside the area need at least six, with an additional fee and a quote based on location and party size when the minimum is not met. Only one wedding is taken per day, a limited number are accepted each year, and peak-season dates from April to November can fill up a year in advance.
