Healthy hair and scalp care sit at the center of the salon's work, and it describes its styles as a way to honor culture and build confidence. Offerings range from scalp treatments and loc upkeep to twists, braids, silk presses, blow-outs and washing. Starter locs, loc extensions and most color services begin with a consultation.
Clients can park on Main Street, where up to two hours of street parking is available. Residents-only streets nearby should be avoided. Stylists recommend products and share care tips so a style can be kept up at home, and clients are asked not to bring outside hair products unless they have allergies or specific needs. Anyone unhappy with a visit can talk with the salon within 24 hours about adjustments or fixes.
Booking requires a 50% deposit charged to the card on file. Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 48 hours ahead; cancellations within 24 hours carry a 50% service charge, and cancellations within an hour of the start time or no-call no-shows carry a 100% charge. Clients running late should call, and arrivals within a 15-minute grace period are accommodated where possible. Arrivals more than 20 minutes late may incur a fee and could lead to cancellation. All services are non-refundable.
The salon offers education to help train the next generation of beauty professionals. Its apprentice program, which typically runs about one year, is for people building a career in natural hair care, and apprentices are paid hourly while they train.
Focuses on healthy hair and scalp care, with styles that reflect culture and confidence, and aims for a hospitality-minded setting.
The salon describes its space as calm and welcoming, with hospitality at the center of the experience.
