The spa was founded by Beata Kosakowska, who says it was inspired by the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland, a site credited with bringing halotherapy to the West. The spa describes its model as following the therapeutic approach of that mine's hospital, and it describes itself as the first 5-star halotherapy health resort in Florida.

About

The salt cave is lined with pink Himalayan salt on its walls and floor, with about 25,000 pounds of Polish and Himalayan salt in total. It is kept at around 69 degrees F and about 60 percent humidity. Guests recline in zero-gravity chairs under a blanket, with chromotherapy lighting during the session. Sessions are offered as single public visits, private groups of up to seven guests, family sessions for children and adults, and adults-only sessions for ages 13 and up. The cave is fully ADA accessible, and the spa will also advise on building a salt cave for a home or business.

Float therapy takes place in one of two private rooms, each with a single tank. The tanks hold about a foot of warm water with roughly 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. Guests can choose to turn on lights or music or close the pod lid, and they can book 60- or 90-minute floats. Each float guest completes an emailed waiver, and there is a weight limit of 300 pounds, which increases for guests over 6.3 feet tall.

The infrared sauna is a Sunlighten unit used in a private suite with its own shower for cooling down. Each session is reserved for one guest or for up to four people from the same party. The sauna offers seven pre-programmed sessions, ranging from relaxation to detoxification and pain relief, and includes chromotherapy, acoustic resonance sound therapy and aromatherapy. Sessions are 30 or 40 minutes.

Massage is performed by licensed massage therapists, and the spa lists a Florida Department of Health registration. Many massages use heated Himalayan salt stones. Esthetic services are by appointment, and dermaplaning is performed by certified estheticians; it is not offered to clients with active acne, rosacea or sunburn. Packages that combine a salt cave session, a float, a sauna session, a massage or a facial are available, and robes are included in several of them.

The spa combines mineral water with natural practices and treatments, with an individualized approach to stress management and relaxation. Its treatments are aimed at body, mind and spirit, and at relaxation and recovery.

An intimate, warm and comfortable space in Old St. Augustine, a short walk from George Street.
