Salt Salon has two locations: the San Francisco salon at 1881 Hayes St, which the business describes as a five-chair boutique, and a second salon at 91 Los Cerros Pl in Walnut Creek.

The team works mostly in color and cutting. Service prices are set by how long a service takes and may change. Time beyond the booked service is charged hourly, starting at $160 an hour. Larger appointments need a non-refundable deposit that is applied to the final cost; for extensions, the deposit covers the full cost of the hair. Cancellations and reschedules need at least 72 hours' notice and must be made through Square, since phone, email and text cancellations are not accepted. Arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time counts as a missed appointment and is charged the full price of the booked services. All services are final, with no refunds, so any concerns should be raised within 72 hours. Both locations use video and audio recording in service and public areas.
