Salon08 has been operating since 2008 at 4212 SW Genesee Street in the West Seattle Junction. Alongside hair services, it offers spray tanning.

Spray tanning is applied with an airbrush by an artist who chooses a solution suited to the client's skin tone. It is done without a booth or tanning bulbs, and clients can keep their clothing on or go without tan lines, whichever they prefer.

The salon describes its sunless solution as certified organic and as a proprietary formulation, and says it is the only salon in Seattle using it. Before an appointment, clients are advised to exfoliate and moisturize a few days ahead, shave or wax 12 to 24 hours before (but not on the day), get a manicure or pedicure, and skip moisturizers, deodorants, oils and makeup that day.

Afterward, the salon suggests loose, dark cotton clothing, avoiding sweat and liquids for eight to twelve hours, and daily moisturizing with sunscreen, since the solution contains none. Long baths, chlorine, saltwater and soaking may fade the tan, so the salon advises avoiding them.

Free on-street parking is available, with a two-hour limit Monday through Friday. The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday 10:00 to 7:00, Friday 10:00 to 6:00, and Saturday 9:00 to 4:00, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
