Salon Studio Rx describes the health of clients' hair as its first priority. The salon says keeping moisture in hair is hard in Arizona's dry climate, so much of its work is built around that problem. According to the salon, better moisture retention can reduce shedding and make hair easier to manage.

Clients are usually seen on a maintenance schedule of two to six weeks rather than every two weeks. The salon recommends regular strengthening treatments and trims of the ends to help hair keep its length between visits.

A first visit begins with a hair evaluation and a conversation about the client's goals and what they can do at home to maintain their hair. The first treatments are usually done during that same appointment.

Booking requires a deposit, which goes toward the service; the balance is paid after the service is finished. Deposits are refunded if an appointment is cancelled more than 48 hours ahead, and are kept otherwise. An appointment can be moved once using the same deposit. Clients who cannot attend should let the salon know, and a no-call, no-show does not qualify for rebooking. Clients who have not been seen in six weeks are booked as new clients. Payment is accepted by Zelle, cash, and debit or credit card, and card payments carry a 2.6% plus $0.30 processing and convenience fee.
