Those are the salon's own descriptions. The founder conceived the space as a calm, tranquil place where guests can unwind during their services, and she designed the room to feel relaxing.

The salon's approach centers on teamwork aimed at excellence in both services and the overall guest experience. Every team member is trained in the Nuuvo customer service method, a set of procedures for each guest interaction. Continuing education runs through Nuuvo University, an in-house hair academy where team members can complete advanced training at the salon, and through other educational programs. The salon also handles marketing, inventory, retail sales, sanitation and taxes so that stylists can concentrate on their work. It is certified as a Green Circle Salon.

A visit begins at the front desk. Signature Shampoo is included with most hair services, though not with bridal hair or braid bar services. Guests complete evaluation forms, and the salon follows up with callbacks. An eco and sanitation fee of $4 is added to each service ticket; the salon says this funds its eco-friendly initiatives and additional personal protective equipment. The salon does not offer express or rushed blowdry services.

Booking requires an active credit card on file. Appointments can be cancelled by phone or email at least 24 hours ahead without a fee. Cancellations made later than that and no-shows are charged 100 percent of the service ticket price, with exceptions for emergency illness, which are described as rare. The salon may decline bookings from clients who have repeatedly missed appointments. Concerns about results must be raised within 7 days of service, and the salon does not offer refunds, cash back or credits. Gift cards are sold, and a rewards program sends discounts and promotions to mailing list subscribers.
