Salon Nova was founded by Kimmy Legassie and is named after her daughter, Nova. The team is made up of artists with different titles and specialties, and each artist keeps their own schedule, so prices for the same cut or color vary by artist. Men's cuts start at $40 to $65 and women's cuts start at $65 to $120, depending on who you book.

The salon says its artists keep building their skills through industry certifications and an in-house education program, and it describes its equipment and technology as among the best available. Education and professional growth sit at the center of the team, and the salon runs apprenticeship programs, which one artist coordinates.

Blonding services are named by tier, from Mini Moon foil work to Supernova blonding, and most include Opal Gloss. Color ranges from Cosmic Connection to Lunar Eclipse, Lunar Glow, Higher Power, Wanderlust corrective color and Starburst vivid color. Wanderlust and Starburst require an online consultation form before booking.

New clients fill out an online consultation form before booking. Returning clients request appointments through an online form and put a credit card on file to reserve a time. Walk-ins are accepted when possible, but an appointment is recommended. Appointments are confirmed by email or text seven days and 24 hours ahead. Cancellations or changes need 24 hours' notice; later changes carry a 50% fee and no-shows a 100% fee. Arriving 15 minutes or more late may also result in a no-show fee.

Hair extensions (I-Tip and Tape-In) are offered with select certified artists. Pricing is set case by case after an in-person consultation, and a 50% deposit secures the installation and orders custom hair. Head spa services include Botanical Crown Awakening and Root to Crown Botanical Journey, and the salon offers wedding hair both in-salon and on-site.

Hours are Monday noon to 9 PM, Tuesday through Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM, Friday 10 AM to 7 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM, and closed Sunday. Salon Nova accepts cash, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, but not checks. Gift cards are sold in any amount and can be used for services and retail. An ATM is on the front porch. The salon is non-smoking and non-vaping, does not offer children's pricing, allows only children who are receiving services inside, and does not allow animals except service animals.
