Salon Millie

Salon Millie is a one-chair studio, so each visit is one-on-one with the owner and stylist, Andee Becker. The salon is located at Image Studios on South University Boulevard. Short and mid-length haircuts, including pixie and bob cuts, are the services the salon says clients request most. Color work includes all-over color, foil highlights, grey blending with highlights, and low-ammonia color.

The vintage hairstyling menu covers styles from a classic cut with a small round-brush blowdry for curls and waves, to a full heat set with hot tools followed by a brush-out, to a vintage-style set for weddings, themed parties and balls. The salon describes these classic looks as updated with current techniques. For couples, The Perfect Pair is a bridal-day service at the salon, with a mimosa, coffee or tea offered while the partner is styled. In-person consultations for vintage styling are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays by appointment, with a non-refundable $100 deposit that can be applied to a bridal package.

Visits are quiet by design. Silent Appointments begin with a short conversation about any changes to the hair, and after that the stylist speaks only to ask about hair or comfort. Guests choose music or silence, can connect a playlist to the salon's Bluetooth speaker, and are offered a drink, with snacks available. The shampoo service includes a scalp massage, a warm essential-oil towel under the neck and a lavender-infused eye pillow.

New guests book online and complete a digital consult form before their first visit. A credit card secures each appointment and is stored securely, and it is charged only for late cancellations, which need 48 hours' notice and are charged 50% of the booked service if made less than 24 hours ahead. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000 with approval before the appointment. The salon is not currently taking new long-hair clients and refers those guests to other stylists. Underground parking is in the alley behind the building, with a access code sent before each appointment, and street parking is nearby, mostly limited to one hour.
