About

Salon Lashe was established in 2011 as the flagship location of The Lashe, Inc. It sits at the corner of Oak and Rush in the Gold Coast and also has a location at 6321 North Avondale Avenue. The salon's work centers on the Lashe Technique, which attaches one synthetic fiber to each natural lash with a bonding agent. The technique has been in development since 2007, and the Lashe product line launched in 2009. The company describes the technique as its contribution to the eyelash extension industry.

The Lashe offers three eyelash extension adhesives, which the salon describes as medical grade with low to no fumes. According to the salon, the adhesives took two years to develop, were tested in the salon for nine months, and are produced in an FDA-certified facility in the USA. The salon describes them as best performing, with a hold of 4 to 6 weeks. The website also has a shop selling Lashe adhesives, extensions and aftercare products.

Each appointment begins with arrival and a consultation to look at natural lashes and discuss the client's goals. Clients lie on heated beds with memory foam and a plush throw, in one of two private rooms, an open lash area or the makeup bar area. The salon is a quiet zone, so clients are asked not to talk during services. Clients should arrive with clean lashes and no mascara; a cleanser is provided for early arrivals. A full set of synthetic lashes is listed at $300 with a stylist, $400 with a senior stylist and $500 with a master stylist. A full set of genuine mink takes about three hours, and a full set usually runs about two to two and a half hours. Re-lashe appointments are recommended every three to three and a half weeks to replace lashes that have shed or grown out, and a one-hour maintenance visit is needed about every three to four weeks.

Brow services include shaping, tinting, extensions and Dermal Graphics brow cosmetic tattooing, which uses a hair stroke technique and includes one touch-up. Candidacy for tattooing is assessed at the consultation, and a doctor's clearance may be needed in some cases. The salon says results last three to five years depending on care. Aftercare ointment and moisturizer are given at the appointment, and a touch-up may be needed two to three months later. Bridal services are booked by consultation, and on-location bridal work requires at least three people, with extended travel possibly adding charges. Appointments can be booked by calling (312) 867-3600 or through the online form. Reserving requires a 50% deposit and a major credit card on file, and changes or cancellations need 48 hours' notice to avoid a charge of 50% of the reserved services.

The salon says attention to detail is central to its work, and it builds its extension services around the Lashe Technique and its own adhesives.

The salon describes its setting as serene and quiet, with a friendly and professional feel.
