Salon Evangelene

Salon Evangelene opened in 2001, founded by Evangelene with the aim of creating a workplace for highly trained professionals. The salon marks 25 years in business and calls itself more than a full-service salon. It states that its goal is to pair experienced professionals with an environmentally responsible, upscale and comfortable setting.

Color work makes up much of the menu here, from full color and custom blonding to targeted highlights, with balayage as a specialty. The shop is an Exclusive Eufora International Salon, and it uses Eufora home care and professional color products that contain aloe stem cells. Clients can choose I-tip or K-tip bonds, or go with hand-tied, butterfly-weft or tape-in extensions. According to the salon, its extension specialists are certified, and several of them hold certifications with extension companies. The salon presents itself as education-focused, with mentors spanning a range of ages. It also runs the Academy at Salon Evangelene, a 13-week course for stylists licensed in Ohio that focuses on the skills needed to serve clients on the salon floor.

The spa side includes therapeutic massage that can be adjusted in pressure, warm Thai bamboo massage, deep tissue and sports massage, natural hot stone massage and prenatal massage. A CBD oil treatment, which is THC-free, can be added to any massage for $20. Facials use Eminence Organic Skincare, and dermaplaning is available as an add-on, a physical exfoliation done with a sterile surgical scalpel. Manicures use Dazzle Dry lacquer, and pedicures run about an hour. Gel X nail extensions are offered as an alternative to acrylic. Full-body waxing, including Brazilian waxing, is also available, along with makeup that uses Jane Iredale cosmetics.

A visit includes complimentary beverages such as ice water, hot tea and coffee, and robes are provided for hair services. The salon is adults only, with no children under 13 permitted. Appointments can be booked online at any hour through the website or Facebook page, up to a year ahead, and recurring standing appointments can be arranged through guest services. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice. Listed prices are base prices that can change without notice, three pricing tiers vary by provider and experience, and a $4 Green Circle fee is added at each visit. Cards, personal checks and salon gift cards are accepted, and tips can be added to a card payment or left at the front desk. Hours are Monday through Thursday afternoons and evenings, Friday and Saturday daytime, and closed Sunday, and they may change to fit staff schedules.

Bridal services have their own terms. Brides' hair starts at $225 and includes a practice session, and bridesmaid styles are $100. Hair services for bridal parties are done on dry hair, and a $35 wet hair fee applies if a client arrives with damp hair. Wedding party bookings require a 50 percent deposit by credit card, with the balance due two weeks before the wedding and an 18 percent gratuity added to the final payment. Deposits are refunded in full for cancellations made 30 or more days before the wedding.
