Sakura Luxe Head Spa

Sakura Luxe works with one guest at a time in a Japanese-inspired room, with a cozy lobby for guests who are waiting. Treatments take place on a massage bed. Services are by appointment only, and back-to-back bookings can be arranged for two guests.

The treatments are inspired by Japanese head spa traditions. Petal Drift is a one-hour head spa at $110 that moves through a scalp analysis, high frequency therapy, a double cleanse, hair steaming, a hydrating treatment, scalp massage, a water halo and a blow dry of the scalp. A complimentary lip exfoliation is included.

Sakura Dream is listed at $180 and combines a facial with a head spa. The facial portion covers a double cleanse, exfoliation, facial massage, cold globe therapy, a golden honey mask and a moisturizer with SPF. The head spa portion adds scalp analysis, high frequency, hair play, a scalp treatment, a steam dome, a hydrating treatment and a water halo, finishing with a blow dry of the scalp. The salon says it uses high-quality products.

Some practical points: styling and blowouts are not part of any service, and the light blow dry at the end is only for comfort. Clients are advised not to wash their hair on the day of the appointment, to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to set aside electronic devices during treatment. Braids, extensions and sew-ins cannot be serviced, and hair should be worn so the scalp is fully accessible. Clients who are pregnant should check with a healthcare provider first, since treatment requires lying flat on the back for the full session. The studio is not a medical practice, so conditions such as psoriasis, excessive dryness, flakiness, thinning or hair loss are referred to a dermatologist or other medical specialist.
