Sakina Braiding LLC

Sakina Braiding LLC is a braiding studio in Silver Spring, Maryland, founded in 2022 by Sakina, a master braider who has more than 20 years of hands-on experience. The studio describes itself as a premium hair braiding studio and says its braiding is skilled and passionate work.

Sakina learned African braiding techniques, moving from classic box braids to knotless and boho styles. Knotless braids are installed starting from the natural hair outward to keep tension low.

The studio works with all hair types, including natural, relaxed, thick, fine, short and long hair, and welcomes clients of all backgrounds and ages. Gentle techniques are used for younger children. Clients can bring a style photo and have it replicated or customized.

Appointment length depends on the style, hair length and thickness. Simple styles usually take about 2 to 3 hours, while intricate or longer styles can run 4 to 7 hours. An estimated appointment time is given when booking. Clients are encouraged to arrive with clean, detangled and stretched hair if possible.

Clients who bring their own should bring the amount their style needs, and staff can advise on this when booking. Payment is accepted in cash or by Zelle; credit and debit cards are not accepted at this time.
