Sakada

Sakada has been at its Highway 7 suite in Minnetonka since 2014. The space is set up for 20 stylists and two nail technicians, and at the time of the facts it had 19 active stylists and a nail technician. The salon welcomes clients of all ages and all hair types.

The salon describes itself as offering a full beauty experience, combining premium products, advanced techniques and an elegant setting. Its stylists are described as bringing decades of combined experience to each service. Clients are matched with a stylist, and the team listens to what each person wants for their hair before offering suggestions.

Haircuts are precision cuts shaped to face shape, lifestyle and personal style. Color runs from subtle highlights to bold fashion shades, using premium products. Styling covers blowouts, updos and special event looks. Chemical services include perms, relaxers and smoothing treatments. Waxing covers brow shaping and removal of unwanted facial and body hair. Manicures, pedicures and nail enhancements are performed by a nail technician in a space the salon describes as clean and relaxing.

Sakada runs education for its own stylists and for outside professionals. SKD EDU is listed as a Minnesota Board of Cosmetology approved practitioner and continuing education provider, and its programs offer 4 continuing education credits each. SKD's Sunday School meets at the salon one Sunday a month from February through October, while SKD's Monday School is traveling education held at locations outside the salon.

Appointments can be booked online through a Fresha page. Cancellations need 48 hours' notice, and missed appointments may be charged under the individual stylist's policy. Stylists are independent contractors who set their own prices, so pricing questions go to the salon.
