SAGE Hair Studios is a private salon in Studio 27 at 10980 Bulloch Drive, inside Sola Salons in Manassas. The salon describes itself as a studio for modern hair in Northern Virginia and as exclusive. Its focus is dimensional color, lived-in blondes and brunettes, and seamlessly blended extensions. Owner Lauren Barile works alongside Ally, and the two artists are trained together at the studio.

A visit starts with a private guest code for the main door, which is sent with the confirmation email and by text on the morning of the appointment. Parking is available in spots right out front. The atmosphere is relaxed. While a stylist finishes with another client, guests can wait in the waiting chairs or use the restrooms at the back of Sola Salons. Refreshments include still or sparkling water, sodas, Nespresso coffee and iced coffee, and clients aged 21 and over can order wine or an espresso martini. Clients who bring a laptop can use the password-protected Wi-Fi at their station. Clients are encouraged to come alone, and children and extra guests are asked to stay home.

Color consultations are free and last 45 minutes, and they produce a customized color plan. Color Rescue is a corrective service for uneven tone, banding, unwanted color, buildup or results that need rework, and it requires a color consultation before it can be booked. Transformative Blonde is the salon's most extensive blonding session, brightening through the face, mids and ends while keeping a soft natural root. Lived-In Color is built to order and may combine foiling, balayage, teasylights, tip-outs, lowlights and root melting, finished with a root melt and gloss.

Extension work begins with a free 60-minute consultation that looks at natural hair, color match, density and hair health. New extension clients complete a New Guest Extension Form and upload photos of their current hair before that visit. After consultation come method selection, hair selection, ordering and installation. Hidden Bead and IBE methods may need extra hair for a full blend. Booking is done through GlossGenius, which also runs the waitlist; clients are emailed if a spot opens for the services they selected. Gift cards are available on the booking site. Cancelling or rescheduling more than 48 hours ahead has no penalty, while cancelling within 48 hours carries a 50% fee and a missed appointment with no notice is charged 100%. Arriving 10 minutes late may limit the services offered, and arriving more than 20 minutes late requires rescheduling. Clients who are unhappy with their hair can report it within 7 days and will be invited back to discuss a fix, but the salon does not offer refunds under its redo policy. A 4% service fee at checkout supports stylist education, tools and salon upgrades. New clients must complete required forms and waivers before their first visit, and clients are asked to arrive with no more than two days of unwashed hair. The salon does not sell or rent personal information to third parties. Hours are Monday 9AM to 2PM, Tuesday and Thursday 10AM to 7PM, Wednesday 10AM to 4PM, and Saturday and Sunday 9AM to 5PM; Friday hours are not listed.

Every color, cut and extension is shaped around the individual client's natural hair, daily routine and intended finish, rather than one standard method.
