Rye'tious Nails traces its roots to a nail service that founder Sarai Quinice started on a porch in Philadelphia at age eight. Each medical pedicure opens with an assessment of foot health, and a staged plan is drawn up from that. The stage is assigned using photos of the feet and is confirmed during the visit, so clients don't have to select one when they book. Stage 1 is for light buildup, minor callus and upkeep. Stage 2 addresses moderate callus, thicker nails and early signs of fungus. Stages 3 and 4 handle heavy callus, severe nail thickening, injury, long-term problems and serious buildup or deformity. Services can include trimming and shaping nails, cuticle work, reducing thick nails, removing calluses and corns, treating cracked heels, nail debridement, moisturizing, and advice on care at home. A foot problem isn't required to book, and preventive appointments are available.
Pedicures are done without water tubs or foot jets, using waterless techniques, medical-grade tools and products. Tools are sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave, single-use items are discarded after each visit, and the studio says it schedules 15 minutes between clients to disinfect equipment and furniture. Each appointment is one-on-one in a private, enclosed suite. New clients join a waitlist and must submit foot photos and a questionnaire, while clients seen within the last two months may book directly. Returning clients who have been away more than six weeks need to upload foot photos before booking.
The studio does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and it advises clients with diabetes or other medical concerns to continue care with their physician or podiatrist. It works with podiatrist partners in Michigan and New Jersey, and the partners page lists six podiatry practices. It does not treat infected ingrown nails that puncture the skin and contain pus; those clients are referred to a podiatrist. Medical pedicures are not covered by insurance, but HSA and FSA funds can be used for eligible services once the client confirms coverage with their benefits provider. The studio can provide an itemized receipt and reimbursement form, and some plans require a podiatrist's Letter of Medical Necessity, which can be arranged through a telehealth partner. The site reports 255 Google reviews with an average rating of 5.0.
A 50 percent deposit is required to reserve an appointment. It is non-refundable and is credited toward the total once the service is finished. Appointments can be changed with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made on the same day, and missed appointments, are billed for the full price. HSA or FSA payments that are declined are not returned, and no refunds are given for services already performed. When needed, a client may have one considerate companion with them, such as a caregiver, spouse, friend, or a well-behaved child. Animals are not allowed in the suite, and any recording during treatment needs prior explicit permission.
Treats foot and nail care as health care rather than cosmetic work, using waterless, aseptic methods and medical-grade tools.
Clean and calm, with one-on-one visits in a private, enclosed suite.
