The salon was opened by Shavon, who came to hair work through cosmetic skills in makeup and lash extensions. Over time the work moved into loc extensions and natural hair education. The salon also offers loc training courses for people who want to learn the craft or start their own loc business.

Some services begin with a consultation. Starter locs, loc extensions, and color on roots, full crown, tips or ombre all require one, and new clients booking starter locs or extensions pay a separate $50 consultation fee. Consultations can be held in person, which is recommended, or virtually.

Deposits and arrival rules are set out clearly. A $50 deposit reserves any appointment and goes toward the service, and starter loc and extension bookings require a 50% deposit at booking. Deposits are non-refundable. Clients should arrive no more than five minutes early, and arriving 15 minutes late may lead to cancellation or rescheduling. A $50 late fee applies if the stylist must wait. The waiting area is for clients being serviced, so guests and children stay out of the salon area unless they are receiving a service. Debit and major credit cards are accepted, along with cash or card gratuities. Checks are not accepted, and photo identification is required for card payments.
