Rockland ColonCare and Hydrotherapy was recently opened in Rockland County by Jennifer Grant, who first worked with other colon hydrotherapists in the New York metropolitan area. The practice describes its aim as offering high-quality colon cleansing and colon care, and it presents colon hydrotherapy as a way to cleanse the lower intestinal tract.
The center takes a holistic view that considers body, mind and spirit. It pairs sessions with guidance on healthy eating and an active lifestyle, and it recommends continuing a probiotic routine after cleansing treatments.
A visit begins with an intake form. A first session takes about an hour and a half, while later sessions usually run 45 minutes to an hour. The site recommends planning three sessions over two weeks. During a session, the therapist controls the flow of water in and waste out, repeating this several times, and the client can stop at any time if they feel discomfort. Clients are asked to avoid drinking fluids and eating for two hours beforehand and to arrive on time. Anyone with health concerns is asked to check with their doctor and bring any prescriptions to the session. Menstruating clients may attend or reschedule if they feel uncomfortable.
According to the practice's website, colon hydrotherapy is not recommended for people with colon cancer, ulcerative colitis, rectal bleeding, a history of seizures, or recent abdominal surgery. The website also notes that the US Food and Drug Administration has not reviewed its statements, and that they are not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any illness. Clients can reach the practice by phone at 845-304-3633 or by email at RocklandColonCare@gmail.com. The practice serves clients coming from Manhattan, Westchester, Orange County and Bergen County, New Jersey. Parking is offered in the driveway or along the street in front of the office.
