The studio is spread over two floors: consultation and salon rooms are on the ground floor, and the main showroom is upstairs. Parking is available in front of or behind the building, with entry from either side. Hours run Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and the studio is closed Sunday and Monday. Walk-ins are welcome, though appointments are recommended. Emergency appointments, maintenance questions and repair requests can be handled by phone.
Every visit starts with a free consultation with no obligation to buy. Consultations are private and one-on-one, usually running about half an hour to an hour, and cover background such as occupation, lifestyle and the cause of hair loss. Clients may bring a friend or family member, need no preparation, and can bring photos of past or preferred hairstyles. Guidance on medically related insurance coverage is part of the conversation.
Medical prostheses are custom designed in cut, color and style, with a precision fitting, front hairline reconstruction and a final fitting. Custom wigs are made from the client's measurements, color, density and style preferences, while stock wigs are pre-made and available right away. The business keeps more than 100 wigs in stock, including blonde, gray, short, long, synthetic and human hair styles, and says it can usually repair or re-cut wigs bought elsewhere after an in-person assessment.
The salon builds its wigs with fine human hair, and for gray shades it may also use higher-grade synthetic fibers where they suit the design. Options come as lace-based, skin-based, or hybrid constructions. Ready-made systems can usually be adjusted and fitted within a few days, while fully custom pieces typically take 6 to 16 weeks. Upkeep is generally suggested every 2 to 4 weeks, and clients are given written instructions for home care. According to the salon, about 95% of clients need only a proper fit to keep their wig secure. The salon says its pieces are meant to go unnoticed when they are fitted and styled correctly.
Larger purchases can be paid over time through Pay with Cherry, a 0% APR option with no hard credit check. Medical purchases with a prescription may be partially reimbursable by insurance, and the business provides proof of purchase. Sales tax on a medical purchase may be reimbursed by the State, with the form and an envelope supplied. The business is affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and eligible veterans may qualify for cranial prosthesis coverage. Riviera Aesthetic is a sister med spa brand.
