Rise & Glow brings together two Boston-area companies, RISE and GLOW, in one studio on the fourth floor of 423 West Broadway in South Boston. Lash, brow, makeup, skin, tanning and waxing services are all offered there.

About

Finding the studio takes a little orientation: the entrance is a door between CVS and Lincoln, and the suite is listed as #405 on the building directory. Hours are Monday from noon to 6 PM, Tuesday through Thursday from 11 AM to 8 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. The studio is closed on Sundays. Cancellations are made by phone, text or email, not by direct message.

For lash appointments, clients arrive without eye makeup, including mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow, and remove their contact lenses during the visit. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late are treated as no-shows. Late cancellations within 24 hours are charged half the service price, while cancellations within three hours and no-shows are charged the full price. Refunds are not offered; concerns about lash, brow or skin services must be raised within 72 hours, and concerns about spray or airbrush tans within 24 hours. Credit card payments carry a 3% processing fee.

Tanning is a large part of the menu. UV sessions come as stand-up Level 3 or lie-down Level 4, with bronzing bulbs, and protective eyewear is provided. Norvell spray tans take about five minutes and come in Original, which develops for six to eight hours, or Venetian, which is the rapid option. Custom airbrush tans are made with Original, Venetian or Tuscan solutions. The salon says its tanning solutions are non-toxic, made with naturally derived and organic ingredients, and pregnancy safe. Tanning packages must be bought in person, expire six months after purchase, and sessions are spaced at least 24 hours apart.

Lash extensions come in classic, hybrid, volume and mega volume styles, and the look can be natural, doll eye, doe eye, dramatic or cat eye. Monthly memberships and 30-day unlimited plans cover spray and UV tanning; memberships run with a three-month minimum and include up to two spray tans per week, with extras at $20 each. Membership changes must be made in person by the 15th of the prior month.
