Reveal BK

Reveal BK is an electrolysis hair removal practice in an office building on Court Street in Brooklyn. The business describes electrolysis as precision permanent hair removal, and its services page also lists laser hair removal.

Electrolysis works by placing a single-use sterile probe into each hair follicle and then lifting the hair out with tweezers. Because permanent results take repeated visits, treatment is usually scheduled weekly, every two weeks or monthly over several months to a year. Sessions are priced by length: 15 minutes for $75, 20 minutes for $85, 30 minutes for $105, 45 minutes for $155 and one hour for $190. One or more body areas can be treated in a single session, and the method covers every body area except the inside of the ears and nostrils.

Visits begin with a consultation and a thorough intake, which decides whether a client is a candidate. The time estimate given at that stage is not a firm commitment. Clients who have had laser hair removal are asked to wait two months, or until the area is no longer irritated, before starting electrolysis. Electrologists do not diagnose; after a questionnaire they may suggest a visit to a primary care doctor or an endocrinologist. Most clients describe the feeling as a slight sting for each follicle, and discomfort can be eased with over-the-counter medication, numbing treatments or breathing techniques. Reveal BK also offers gender affirming care with electrolysis.

Booking can be made online through a third-party platform, including for individual appointments. Consultations and first-time bookings of 30 minutes or less require a $60 deposit, which is non-refundable but transferable and is deducted from the first session. First-time bookings of 45 minutes or more require a 50% deposit with the same terms. Cancellations need at least 48 hours notice, with 50% charged for shorter notice and the full appointment charged under 24 hours. Clients should arrive 10 minutes early and keep a valid debit or credit card on file during treatment. Late arrivals may shorten the appointment and are charged in full, and a no-show is charged the full price. Services, deposits, products and packages are non-refundable, and packages expire one year after purchase.

Treatment is a series of repeated, time-based visits rather than a single session, with candidacy confirmed at a consultation and intake. The business says it uses the latest equipment and techniques to reach permanent results faster.
