Restore Studio Honolulu

Restore Studio is a permanent makeup studio on the second floor of the Kahala Professional Building, Suite 205, on Kilauea Avenue beside Kahala Mall. It was previously known as Brows by Tina and now operates under the Restore Studio name. Tina Le is the owner and artist. The studio says it is Honolulu's number one permanent makeup studio and that it was rated best in Honolulu for permanent makeup two years running on Google Reviews; BusinessRate lists it as Best of 2025 and Best of 2026 for permanent make-up clinics in Honolulu.

Everything is booked by appointment, and every visit begins with a consultation to talk through goals before any work is done. For brows, the shape is mapped together with the client using professional tools, and the color is matched to natural hair and skin tone while taking personal style into account, from soft and subtle to more defined. Free visitor parking is available in front of the building, and street parking runs along Kilauea Avenue.

Powder brows are the core service: a shading technique that places pigment in soft, diffused dots. First-timers with no previous brow tattooing can book Tina's Signature Powder Brows, done in one visit. A brow session takes about 2.5 hours including consultation, mapping, numbing and treatment, and topical numbing cream is used before and during the procedure. Healing starts with about 7 to 10 days of initial recovery and full healing around 6 weeks. A perfecting touch-up around 8 weeks after is available but not always needed, and results typically last one to three years, sometimes longer, with most clients refreshing color every one to two years. Aftercare instructions and a care kit are provided.

For the lash line, lash enhancement places pigment between the lashes rather than on the lid, and lash liner is offered for virgin lash lines. A lash enhancement visit takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, with healing around 7 to 10 days and complete healing in 4 to 6 weeks; results typically last two to three years depending on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Lash lift curls natural lashes without extensions, adhesive or added lashes, and results last approximately 6 to 8 weeks depending on the natural lash cycle and aftercare. Paramedical tattooing covers scar camouflage, stretch mark revision and areola restoration. Areola restoration is customized, using soft shading and blended pigment. Inkless stretch mark and scar revision uses a specialized serum instead of pigment, and results develop gradually. A one-on-one Paramedical Consultation to assess skin and goals is required before any paramedical service. Correction or cover-up of brow tattoos done elsewhere may be possible depending on saturation and shape, and is assessed at consultation.

Before booking, note that permanent makeup is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The studio lists medical and skin-related contraindications, including recent Botox or fillers, Accutane use, diabetes, blood thinners and a history of keloids. Arriving 10 minutes late incurs a $20 late fee, and arriving 15 or more minutes late cancels the appointment and requires a new deposit. Appointments can be rescheduled at no charge up to 24 hours ahead; within 24 hours a $50 fee applies. No-shows forfeit the deposit. Deposits, consultation fees and services are non-refundable. Guests, children and pets are not permitted, and payment plans are offered through Cherry, with 0% APR options subject to eligibility.
