REM Salon was established in 2022 by Chrissy Collins. The salon describes itself as a clean-air, creative space where individuality, education and good hair come first, and it calls itself fragrance-transparent and gender-inclusive.

The team specializes in intuitive cutting, bold and natural color, curly hair and sustainable beauty. Haircut options include wavy, curly and super curly cuts, razor and scissor cuts, and a barber-style clipper and scissor cut. Color services range from grey coverage, which is one haircolor applied to regrowth with no highlighting, to root touch-ups, partial highlights and balayage, and lived-in color paired with a cut.

Pricing is set by time and service rather than by hair texture, gender, length or density. Examples from the booking listings include a return-client curly cut at $225, a new-client curly cut for super curly or coily hair at $275, and an extension installation starting at $350. Extensions are installed by row, with each row listed separately.

Booking is by appointment only, with no walk-ins. Booking opens 60 days ahead, and returning clients may prebook. Clients are asked to arrive with hair washed within 48 hours, detangled, without heavy oils or butters, without braids or ponytails, and without heavy fragrances. Some services may be performed by Chrissy's assistant; booking a fully dried option requests Chrissy herself. The salon accepts credit cards, offers Wi-Fi, and has free street parking on Fullerton Avenue and nearby streets.
