Refined Lines is a medical spa in Boston that was developed by nurse practitioner John Tighe Caldera. The business says it aims to provide research-based treatments using safe protocols, and it places weight on explaining what each procedure involves and what results clients can reasonably expect. The website links to research on each treatment and describes how research evidence is graded.
Treatment options cover facial wrinkles, scars, volume loss, uneven complexion, loss of skin elasticity and thinning hair. Collagen Induction Therapy is microneedling performed with the SkinPen device, and it requires three to four sessions spaced four weeks apart. The business says its effects can last up to a year, with the best results coming from at least three treatments. A SkinFuse system is recommended for three months afterward, and clients obtain it from their provider in advance.
Other services include platelet rich plasma therapy, which uses the client's own blood and is injected into the facial dermis, and hair restoration, where platelet rich plasma is injected into the scalp to stimulate follicles. BOTOX Cosmetic and Juvederm and Restylane dermal fillers round out the menu. The business notes that BOTOX Cosmetic is FDA approved for forehead lines, glabella lines and crow's feet, and that not every wrinkle can be effectively treated with it, even in those areas.
Visits are by appointment only, as walk-ins are not accepted. Cancellations need 24 hours notice or a $50 fee applies. Missed appointments carry a $50 no-show fee and missed consultations carry a $25 fee. Fees are charged to a card on file, and if that card cannot be charged, the fee must be paid before the next appointment. Late arrivals may have visits shortened or rescheduled, and a $50 tardiness fee applies when there is not enough time to safely complete treatment, except for consultations. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted, with a 10% discount on cash payments.
Built on research-based treatments, with each therapy explained so clients understand the procedure and the outcomes to expect.
