REDEFINE MEN'S SALON

Redefine Men's Salon is a men's hair salon on the second floor of the Salon Lofts building at 9 W Erie St in River North, Chicago, next to Barrys and True Food. Services cover precision haircuts, clean-ups, gray blending, and waxing of brows, ears and nose.

The salon describes itself as offering one of the area's top men's salon experiences. The space is meant to feel comfortable and relaxed, with no need to dress up. Kate, the owner and master stylist, greets clients in the lobby at the start of each appointment.

The haircut price includes a shampoo with scalp massage, a hot face towel and a hot neck shave. For clients who only need the edges tidied, a clean-up covers sideburns, the area around the ears and the neck, and includes a hot neck shave. Gray blending is listed at $50 and is meant to camouflage gray hair; the salon states it covers up to 90% gray and lasts three to six weeks. Brow, ear and nose waxing are each $15.

Clients are buzzed in and then take the stairs or elevator up to 2R, where they wait in the lobby. Hours are Monday 2:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday 3:30 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 pm, and Friday 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the salon closed on weekends.
