Raizel Designs Evanston

Raizel Designs is a hair studio in Evanston, Illinois, started in 2013 by Risa Posner. A studio space opened under the Raizel Studios name in 2018. The business lists two addresses, one on Chicago Avenue and one on Wesley Avenue.

Visits are by appointment, with hours on Tuesday through Saturday that vary by day. An existing client's haircut takes about 45 minutes and includes a consultation. For dense or thick hair, or for a big change in length or style, the studio suggests a haircut with shampoo, a one-hour visit that also includes a blow out. New clients have their own one-hour haircut with shampoo option. Hair should arrive freshly washed on the day of the cut, free of product buildup, and clean and dry without a hat, ponytail or bun in the way.

Curly cuts with a lesson, fringe and neck clean-up, blow outs, upstyles, color and keratin are booked by text or email. Gift cards can be bought online. Haircuts include a complimentary adjustment if requested by text or email within two weeks.

Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, or half the reserved service fee applies. A no-show is charged the full reserved service. Fees do not apply in cases of emergency or illness. Timing and pricing may change based on how complex a service is, and any outstanding fees must be settled before a client can rebook.

Hands-on help with cutting, styling, product choices and trying new looks, with the aim of clients feeling good about the hair they wear.
