RA Powder Brows

RA Powder Brows is led by its owner, Ney, and focuses on ombre powder brows. Appointments are by appointment only, at the studio on Rosewell Avenue in Chino.

A new set of ombre powder brows, $100 with a non-refundable booking fee applied toward the balance, takes about 2 hours 30 minutes. It can be done in a natural look or a more makeup-forward look, and it heals to a soft, filled-in powdery finish. The studio says the result typically lasts 1 to 3 years, varying by person. A touch up is recommended 2 to 6 months after the first set, and annual touch ups are offered 12 to 24 months after service. Touch ups from 2 to 6 months cost $50 and address areas that did not heal well or need more pigment. Only one initial touch up is done, and any further touch ups booked after it are canceled.

Correction brows, $100 and about 3 hours, address faded or unsatisfactory brows through color correction, reshaping, and a new color. The old brows need to be faded by roughly 70 to 80 percent and a touch up is needed between 2 and 6 months later. Some corrections may need 2 to 3 more touch ups, and clients send a photo of bare brows with no makeup or filter before booking. A topical anesthetic is applied to numb the brow area during procedures.

Booking terms: clients must be 18 or older, and pregnant or breastfeeding clients cannot book. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, and changes or cancellations made less than 3 days ahead forfeit it. Guests, including children, family, friends, and pets, are not allowed. There is a 15-minute grace period, after which late arrivals lose the deposit and must reschedule. No-show clients are charged 50 percent of the balance.

Training is offered for artists. The beginner ombre powder brow course runs 2 days with lunch and after-class support, and includes certification, a starter kit, and lifetime support. It covers color theory, skin theory, shaping, outlining and shading, machine and latex practice, marketing, and photo editing. An advanced course runs 1 day and includes certification and lifetime support. Private one-on-one guidance for certified artists costs $950, or $850 for past students, and 1:1 and 2:1 options are available. An online course is open to artists worldwide.
