Tina and Vanessa have operated Queen of Nails since 2008, and the studio has been at its current address on South Brookhurst Street for eighteen years. It sits in a strip mall on the east side of the boulevard, with a private parking lot. The studio has four nail chairs and keeps its menu short.
Prices are posted on the wall and quoted before any work starts. Add-ons are quoted upfront as well, and no design fees are added at checkout. Cash tips are appreciated but not expected. Credit cards and cash are both accepted.
The menu covers basic manicures, gel manicures and dipping powder, along with spa pedicures that include a soak, scrub, callus work, massage and polish. A mani and pedi bundle runs about 75 minutes, and two chairs can be used at once when the studio is staffed, so the salon recommends booking ahead for two chairs. Acrylic work includes full sets with a regular tip and fills, which are recommended every two to three weeks.
Custom nail design is available as an add-on, covering freehand art, chrome, marble, 3D bloom and foil. Guests can share an inspiration photo to request a quote. Most custom pieces run 60 to 90 minutes, while some elaborate sets may take around 120 minutes. For chrome, the salon offers a dipping powder option over a gel base, which is smoothed on with a silicone tool and finished with a top coat that doesn't need wiping off.
Walk-ins are welcome when a chair is free, but Saturdays fill quickly, so calling ahead is recommended. Booking is available by phone at (714) 234-5533 or by email at queenofnailsanaheim@gmail.com. According to the salon, most new clients come by referral. The salon also reports a 4.4 out of 5 rating on Google from 22 reviews, and describes itself as the best nail salon on Brookhurst.
The salon says it uses quality products, spends extra time on prep work, does not push acrylics onto natural nails, and does not rush the cure.
