Queen Bee began in 2004 as a small venture in a converted garage in Los Angeles. Founder and CEO Jodi Shays had worked as a facialist, brow artist and waxologist near Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills before starting the business, and its menu still centers on those disciplines. The company now runs four locations: Culver City, Dallas, Seattle and Omaha.

Facials are chosen to suit each client's skin rather than given as one standard treatment, and the salon states its facial protocols are based on more than 20 years of skincare experience.
