Pure Eco Spa opened in 2015 with a single treatment room. Its owner and founder, Rose Maloney, and her husband bought a Cape-style home in Westerly in 2017, and the spa has grown on that site since then. A second story was added to fix a leaky roof, a garage was converted into the Wellness Cottage for overnight guests steps away, and the backyard became the Oasis, a quiet garden space behind the spa with hot and cold therapy rituals.

About

The spa approaches wellness as a whole, bringing together organic skincare, bodywork, holistic therapies, wellness technology and naturopathic medicine under one roof. Each service is adjusted to the client: the team begins by listening to what the client needs and then recommends treatments that fit. According to the spa, it was voted Best Day Spa in Rhode Island in 2021 and 2022, and it describes itself as award-winning.

Facials use clean, non-toxic, organic products. The organic facial line runs from Essential, priced $135 to $150, through Corrective, Advanced, Lift + Glow and Signature Indulge at $350. Targeted facials, dermaplaning, microchanneling, radio frequency and microcurrent sessions are also available, along with a 30-minute No-Tox Facial that combines microchanneling, peptide infusion and LED light. Massage options include the Signature RELAX massage (45 to 90 minutes, $100 to $175), Deep Tissue REPAIR, Custom and Hot Stone MELT. Full body lymphatic drainage is a two-session package priced at $325, using the Vodder method with a trained practitioner. STAR Compression Therapy is offered in 20, 30 or 40 minute sessions. Reflexology is a clothed, foot-focused service that does not involve massage techniques.

Sauna and light therapy uses a Sunlighten infrared sauna with Himalayan salt panels and a LightStim LED Bed. A complimentary 30-minute infrared sauna session is included with a full-length facial, massage or body treatment when it is requested at booking, subject to availability. Naturopathic consultations with Dr. Greg Nigh, ND are by appointment only: a 45-minute new patient visit for $350 or a 30-minute follow-up for $150. Beauty services also include nails, waxing, body scrubs and clean makeup. For wedding day makeup and hair, the spa works with Donna Souza of Makeup Artistry, and bridal services can be arranged for events hosted at the spa.

Memberships and packages are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to other clients or family members, and series of treatments expire if not completed in time. The Pure Wellness Club is a monthly program with a three-month minimum, and gift cards cannot be used toward memberships. The spa is open Fridays and Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM and is closed Sundays and Mondays.
