About

Pulse Electrolysis is an electrolysis and hair removal business in Suite 122 at 12020 Blue Valley Parkway, Overland Park. Electrolysis is the service offered, and appointments are booked online. Clients can reach the business by phone at (913) 645-0395 or by email at PulseElectrolysisKC@gmail.com.

Treatment works on one hair at a time. A sterile, single-use probe is placed in each follicle, and a controlled amount of heat is applied to destroy the regenerative cells that produce the hair. The business states that once those cells are adequately destroyed, that follicle cannot grow another hair.

Electrolysis takes a series of sessions. Sessions get shorter and farther apart as results improve, and the number needed depends on hair amount, hair texture and hormone imbalances. Whether every visible hair can be cleared in one visit depends on hair count, skin condition and skin response. The business describes the sensation as a brief heat feeling. Pricing is by session length, so the total cost cannot be set in advance: 10 minutes is $75, 15 minutes is $80, 30 minutes is $95, 45 minutes is $110 and 60 minutes is $125. Hair must be long enough to grip with forceps, and makeup may be worn to the appointment but is removed to clean the skin first.

Aftercare asks clients to keep the treated area clean and dry and to touch it as little as possible for the first 24 to 48 hours. For 24 hours, the business advises avoiding makeup, deodorant and perfumed products on that area. Clients should avoid tanning, in the sun or in a bed, for at least 48 hours. Between treatments, tweezing, waxing and threading in the treated area are not advised, and SPF 30 or higher is recommended on treated skin that is exposed to sunlight. Redness, swelling and small scabs are described as normal and usually settle within a few days.

Each hair is treated individually, one follicle at a time, with a single-use sterile probe and controlled heat, beginning with a consultation with the owner.
