Publicity Wax Studio

Publicity Wax Studio is located in Suite 204 at a Torrence Chapel Road address in Cornelius. Patsy Lupton opened the studio after working as a waxing specialist, a role she is referred to as a Waxpert, serving clients.

Waxing is the core of the studio. Signature facials use Dermalogica products, and signature vajacial treatments use the Waxing Lovely skin care line. After each waxing service, Tend Skin solution is applied. Brow and lash tinting uses the Candy Brow tint, and eyelash extensions and fills are also offered.

The studio aims for an environment of inclusivity and body positivity. Hours are limited: Monday 4:00 to 6:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday closed. Appointments requested after regular hours or on Sundays carry a request booking fee on top of the service cost, and requests receive a reply within 24 to 48 hours.

Booking requires a non-refundable $10 deposit, applied to the service at checkout. Rescheduling with at least 24 hours' notice moves the deposit to the new appointment, while cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice and no-shows forfeit it. Later cancellations are charged 50% of the service price, and a no-call, no-show is charged the full price. Clients have a seven-minute grace period; a $10 late fee goes on the card on file, and if the appointment cannot be fitted in, 50% of the service price is charged and the client rebooks. Unopened retail products can be returned within 14 days with a digital receipt, but opened products and performed services are not refundable.

Clients are asked to arrive five minutes early, or 15 minutes early for a first visit to finish paperwork. Only the client and one approved guest may be in the studio during appointments, and the restroom is at the back of the suite. Before booking, clients should review the studio's contraindications page. Waxing clients must have stopped certain retinoid-type products, including isotretinoin and Retin-A, for four to six weeks beforehand. Minors need a signed parental consent form and a parent or guardian present during the service. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Apple Pay and cash are accepted, and tips can be given by Apple Pay, Venmo, Cash App or cash.
