Most services require a $25 deposit to hold the appointment. The deposit is submitted within 2 hours of booking, can be paid through Zelle, and is nonrefundable. One reschedule is allowed while the deposit is on file, and cancelling after a second reschedule voids it. A 15-minute grace period applies, after which a $15 late fee is added to the service.
The services cover natural hair straightening through relaxer retouches and a virgin relaxer, silk presses in a basic and a fuller version, and blowouts. Several services include a deep cleanse, hydration, bonding, trim and a silk press, so a visit usually follows a set sequence of steps. Other services focus on scalp care, such as an African clay detox, and an amino-acid smoothing system called STS.
Extension options include quick weaves, tape-in wefts, clip-ins, minimal weft placement and a sleek ponytail. Hair for the extensions is not included in most of these prices, so clients should plan to bring or buy their own.
Children ages 2 to 7 can book Pressed Mini's, a freestyle style with hair accessories. Clients may send photo inspiration ahead of time so the stylist can confirm it is a good fit. The business notes that it is not a trauma center, that parts may not always be perfectly straight for children, and that the stylist follows the child's lead.
Red's Special is available to clients 56 and older, with a choice of silk press, roller set, blowout with trim, or twist out. It is offered Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and on Saturday morning, and it cannot be combined with other offers.
