About

Povero's is a women-owned business in a historic bungalow on Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth. Joyce Anthony bought the building in 1984, and it has stayed in the Povero family since then. Darlene, Jenilee and Bobbi restored the building and opened it as a salon, wig studio and boutique, and they run the business today.

The family has worked in beauty for four generations. A saying passed down from great-grandmother Loretta, I See Beauty, is part of the business's identity. The salon has a few stylists and a master colorist with extension training, and it rents semi-private styling rooms to licensed cosmetologists who have an established or growing clientele.

The wig studio is in-store only and offers private consultations. Clients fill out a short questionnaire before the consultation. The studio describes itself as a private, judgment-free place for women dealing with hair loss or trying something new. The boutique carries dresses, tops, bottoms, home and gift items, accessories and sale items, and describes its selection as curated. The business also hosts Mahjong nights, including an open play session and a Mahjong 101 class.

A family-run business that keeps a salon, a private wig studio and a curated boutique together under one roof, with a family tradition in beauty behind it.
