Most locs work starts with a consultation. A traditional lock consultation is $25 and is used to look at hair type and recommend a method; the fee comes off the total if the client goes ahead. Sisterlocks and microlocks consultations are also $25. A Sisterlocks consultation needs a $150 deposit at booking, and clients should arrive with freshly shampooed hair free of conditioner and oil, detangled. For microlocks, hair should be shampooed and detangled. Hair washing is not offered on site, so clients come in with clean hair.
Sisterlocks retightening is priced by how many weeks of new growth there are. Four to six weeks of growth is $160 and covers three hours, with extra hours at $30 each. Seven to nine weeks is $190. Ten to thirteen weeks is $250 for the first four hours, plus $60 per extra hour. Fourteen to twenty weeks is $525, which may come down depending on how severe the new growth or slippage is. Extreme cases with about 1.5 inches of new growth or slippage start at $350 plus $50 per additional inch, and five inches or more may call for revamping. Transfer clients pay $225 for four hours, with extra hours at $60, and need no separate consultation. Hair measuring 20 to 24 inches adds $30, plus $2 per inch beyond that. Clients who have gone six months or more without a retightening can book a revamping consultation for $25.
Adult starter locs start at $185, and hair of eight inches or more adds $10 per extra inch, with high-density hair adding $80. Traditional maintenance is $140 and rises with hair length and time since the last visit. Interlock maintenance is $100, and the final price depends on the size and length of the locs. A two-strand retwist is $180 for six inches of hair, with $10 added for every two inches beyond that. Lock takedown starts at $350 for three hours, plus $80 per extra hour, and covers lock extensions, traditional locs and freeform locs. Children ages 4 to 10 can get starter locs for $100, or maintenance with a POPN style for $95.
Booking rules matter here. Deposits are non-refundable, and a deposit is forfeited if the client misses a scheduled appointment. To reschedule, clients use the Reschedule appointment option in their confirmation email rather than cancelling; if it is too late to change the booking in the app, they should text before the appointment. Clients who book an invalid time or too many appointments by mistake should call so the business can refund and cancel them. Returning Sisterlocks clients book a retightening window based on weeks since their last retightening, and the price is confirmed when the appointment starts. Clients should add every service they need at booking so enough time is reserved. Extra guests are not allowed unless they are also being serviced.
Work is planned around the locs themselves: a consultation comes first to examine the hair and recommend a method, and Sisterlocks retightening is priced by the amount of new growth.
