Pono Boutique opened five years ago. Its owner started the business by leasing a corner space in Glen Park shortly after finishing esthetics school. The name comes from a Hawaiian word that roughly means balance, or living in balance. The business describes itself as a place where clients can slow down and be cared for.

The menu covers several areas. Facials range from a 30-minute LED treatment and a 30-minute mini bespoke facial to a 90-minute radiance facial, and include a lymphatic drainage option, a teen facial, a bespoke back treatment and a yoni treatment for ingrown hair in female anatomy. Glow Getter dermaplaning is offered in 45- or 60-minute sessions. Brow and lash services include design, tinting, brow lamination and lash lifts, and waxing is available for the face, brows, arms, legs, underarms, back, bikini and feet.

Every facial includes cleansing, steaming, warm compresses, a neck and shoulder massage, lymphatic drainage, exfoliation, pore decongesting, masking, ampoules, facial sculpting and finishing products. Limited conversation is preferred during facials. The boutique is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 to 8, Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6, and closed Tuesday and Thursday. The boutique partners with The Nook Integrative Health, an integrative medicine practice offering naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and holistic aesthetics.
