About

Polished Prep Academy, located in Austell, Georgia, is a nail technology school founded by Tiffani Byrum. It developed out of Prissy & Polished LLC, which started in February 2019 as a salon before expanding into education. According to the academy, it ranks among the foremost nail training schools in Georgia for both high school students and adults.

The Nail Technology program is 600 hours and can be taken full-time or part-time, usually finishing in about 4 to 6.5 months. It covers health, safety and science, manicuring and pedicuring, industry concepts and business, artificial nail configuration, nail art, spa services and state board preparation. Hands-on work includes manicure and pedicure techniques, dry, water and oil services, sculpting acrylic nails and tips, nail repairs and wraps, hand and foot massage, and sanitation rules. Students work with clients on the clinic floor as part of their training. Graduates must pass a state board exam before a professional license is issued.

The Nail Instructor program is a 250-hour course that awards a diploma. It covers theory, practical nail skills, record keeping, curriculum development and lesson planning, classroom management, student retention, learning styles, teaching methods and student evaluation. Applicants need a current Georgia cosmetology or nail technician license, one year of salon nail experience and additional beauty industry experience.

Clients booking services are usually seen on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and on select Saturdays. Hours depend on student availability, so the booking site shows current openings. Visitors can book a school tour in person or virtually, lasting about 15 to 30 minutes. The academy also runs high school dual enrollment, summer nail camps, advanced career training, professional internships, employment help and scholarships.

The Polished Prep Foundation is a non-profit founded by Tiffani Byrum to help people pursue further education.

The academy's stated mission centers on short-term progress, individual attention, progressive teaching methods and hands-on learning.

The school has a classroom, a salon-style clinic floor and a front building area.
