Poise Waxing

Poise Waxing is based at Poise Studios in Union Park Gardens on South Union Street in Wilmington.

Lash and skin services share the same studio. Several professionals are listed under their own names on the booking menu, offering lash extensions, refills, touch-ups, lash removal and a soft glam makeup look.

Booking requires a $10 deposit that goes toward the service; it is non-refundable and cannot be moved to a new appointment if the visit is canceled. Clients who no-call or no-show cannot book again, and a text is requested to cancel. Monthly subscriptions and packages are available through online booking, and gift certificates come in $25 and $100 amounts.

On arrival, clients stay in their car and send a text to the studio instead of calling. Clients get a five-minute grace period for lateness; after that a $10 late fee applies, and a visit more than ten minutes late must be rescheduled. If the studio runs behind, each minute of delay takes $1 off the service. Clients may stop a service at any point, and pricing reflects how much of it was completed.

For waxing, clients should avoid Accutane and products containing retinol, retin-a, tretinoin or alpha hydroxy acids for two weeks beforehand, and let hair grow for at least two weeks after shaving. Booking acknowledges that skin irritation or rash may occur. Clients who prefer not to have before-and-after photos taken can say so before the appointment.
