The salon cuts and styles children's hair and also serves teens and adults, with shampooing, cutting, color and styling. The floor has nine chairs: full-size chairs for older children and vehicle-style chairs for younger ones. There are princess stations, kiddie chairs with TVs, and styling stations for older kids.
The salon describes its parties as redefining children's birthday celebrations. The basic package starts at $799, not including tax, an 18% gratuity or card fees, and covers up to 8 children for 90 minutes, two plain pizzas, juice for the kids, theme decorations, a dedicated host, cleaning before and after, music, special lighting, a photo slideshow and an indoor TV announcement. The party area is about 1,800 square feet with sound, lighting and LED technology. The salon says its interactive LED floor is the first of its kind in New Jersey, and it offers more than 30 arcade games on that floor at no charge.
Parties start and end at the scheduled times. Extra time can be added in 30-, 60-, 90- or 120-minute blocks, and any overrun is charged per 15 minutes. Decorations, including custom theme decorations, remain the property of Planet Kidz. Children under 12 months are not discounted, and every child in attendance is charged. Catering and custom cakes are arranged on request, with pricing given on request.
The salon is built around children, with princess stations, TV-equipped kiddie chairs, vehicle-style seats for younger clients and a party program that runs from decorations to food and entertainment.
A bright, family-oriented setting in a high-rise neighborhood, with a party room that has sound, lighting and LED floor effects.
