Pizza Perfect Nails

Pizza Perfect Nails is a one-on-one nail studio founded by Laurel Maha, who also works as its nail technician. Visits require an appointment, so each client receives the technician's undivided focus at a relaxed pace. The studio is located at 7025 Gladys Ave. Cars can be left along the curb or in the driveway. To enter, walk to the right of the garage door, not the front door.

Every appointment starts with a dry manicure: nails are trimmed and shaped, cuticles are gently pushed back, dead skin is removed, and the nails are dehydrated and primed. From there the service depends on nail length. Gel manicure suits nails with a short free edge of about 3mm or less, using a thin base gel, then gel color and or art, and a top gel. Structured manicure on natural nails suits nails with an edge of 2mm or more and adds strength by building base gel at stress points, which also suits clients growing out or keeping length. Gel overlay over natural nails is recommended for longer edges above 7mm and uses a harder builder gel for added strength.

Laurel Maha has over ten years of experience as a licensed nail technician. Laurel started creating nail art on themself and friends after college, before formal training. Laurel later enrolled in manicuring school after returning from a cross-country bike trip, and held nail art pop-ups in several cities along the way. The work centers on custom, multidimensional nail art. Designs are built from a client's material, color, texture or theme, and can draw on other crafts, nature and fine art. Clients are welcome to bring reference images, a concept or simply a mood. The aim is for each client to feel like an expanded version of themselves, with nail art added on top of their own style.

The studio uses gels and decorations from Japan, Korea and Europe. Bookings include a wedding services category. Clients can reach the studio by text or email to ask about scheduling, and cancellations are made through the booking portal rather than by contacting the stylist directly.

Designs are built around each client's own material, color, texture or theme, and the aim is nail art that adds to a client's personal style.
