Pizazz Hair

Pizazz Hair is a salon in Kenner, Louisiana, founded by Jessica B, a master hairstylist and expert colorist. The salon offers two main strands of work: hair color, and custom wigs made for people experiencing hair loss.

The wig program centers on fully custom cranial prosthesis units built around each client's hair loss needs. Wigs are made with a natural-looking hairline, a length and style that can be adjusted, a breathable cap, and a custom color. The salon describes its wigs as hypo-allergenic and says they can last up to two years. They can be heat styled and are custom fitted. According to the salon, most insurance covers the wigs, and eligible veterans receive full coverage through the VA. The salon is an approved provider with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for custom cranial prosthetics for veterans with hair loss from medical conditions, and it offers consultations for veterans.

The salon says its wig program suits a range of clients, including veterans, cancer patients, people with alopecia, burn or trauma survivors, women with hormonal hair loss, transgender women, people with autoimmune or chronic illness, people with genetic or early-onset hair loss, and people with scalp sensitivities. Care instructions for washing, styling and storage are provided for medical wigs.

On the color side, clients can book a new client consultation, a new client specialty color, a color service with four colors or a custom color, a roots-only color service, or a blonding, bleach and tone service with a moisture mask. The salon describes its approach as different, with each wig and color personally customized by a certified Hair Loss Specialist.

According to the salon, a Hair Loss Specialist who holds certification fits each wig and shade to the individual client. Every visit then follows a five-step hair transformation process.
