The salon says its aim is to keep hair healthy and good-looking while respecting its integrity, and to fit each client's needs and wishes. It describes itself as a safe and welcoming space for people of any gender, sexuality or cultural background, and it asks clients who use racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, harassing or sexist language to leave. The salon uses vegan and cruelty-free products, with the exception of Cezanne, which contains silkworm proteins. It describes itself as a Green Circle salon, a program that recycles salon waste such as hair, foils and color tubes.

Balayage is painted freehand for highlights that grow out without a harsh line at the root. Foil work adds dimension through highlights and lowlights, with full foil placed throughout the hair. Bleach and tone covers a single color, while multi-tone looks such as oil slick or unicorn are booked as Special Effects or arranged by contacting the salon. Toner refreshes lightened hair between services, and corrective color is priced after a consultation. A color consultation is recommended for new clients, and a haircut consultation is available before booking a cut.

Cuts and styling include haircuts, barber cuts, buzz cuts, bang and neck trims, blow dries, shampoo and blow dry, and flat iron styling. Cezanne is a smoothing treatment that softens curl and reduces frizz and styling time; it does not make hair completely straight and typically lasts four to six months. Olaplex treatments are available on their own or with a blow dry for dry, color-treated or damaged hair.

For bookings, call or text (206) 880-0625, or email pinkrubysalon@gmail.com. No-shows and cancellations made within 24 hours are charged 50% of the service, and clients who cannot make an appointment should call to reschedule or a cancellation fee applies. Re-dos must happen within two weeks of the original service. Clients up to 15 minutes late may still be seen, though the full service is not guaranteed; clients more than 15 minutes late may be rescheduled and charged half the scheduled service. Existing clients get free neck and bang trims within three weeks of a haircut.
