Pine & Palm occupies a building on Ruberta Avenue with its own history. In 1946, Emil and Virgie Galle ran a machine shop there that made parts for California's aerospace industry. Their granddaughter, Jen Luna, opened the current salon in the space as a place where hair artists can work and collaborate.

Pine & Palm occupies a building on Ruberta Avenue with its own history. In 1946, Emil and Virgie Galle ran a machine shop there that made parts for California's aerospace industry. Their granddaughter, Jen Luna, opened the current salon in the space as a place where hair artists can work and collaborate.
Rather than operating as a single team, the salon rents out creative space to hair artists. Chairs can be rented by the day, with pricing and availability listed on Shear Share.
Haircuts, color and treatment add-ons are offered. Appointments are booked online through the salon's Square booking page, where gift cards are also sold. Entrance and parking are at the end of the alley between Ruberta and Sonora. The salon is open Monday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and is closed Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.
