Pin & Paint N Gilbert Road

Pin & Paint is a salon owned and operated by Alex LaPointe. The salon suite first opened in March 2019 in Mesa, Arizona, and it now lists two Gilbert addresses, one on South Val Vista Drive and one on North Gilbert Road. The space is small and sits inside a building shared with other beauty professionals.

The work is built around lived-in, low-maintenance color and several extension methods. Color visits range from a quick mini refresh for regular maintenance to full transformations for first-time guests, dark-to-light changes and hair that has gone more than a year between services. Extensions are placed with beaded row and k-tip methods, and every extension service begins with a complimentary consultation that covers the process, upkeep, at-home care and color matching.

Booking is handled online through the Gloss Genius booking site, and a card is kept on file. Clients are asked to arrive on time or a few minutes early, and appointments more than 15 minutes late are rescheduled. Cancellations made 48 hours or more ahead are free. Later cancellations are charged 25 percent of the scheduled service, same-day cancellations 50 percent, and no-call, no-show clients 100 percent. Children are welcome only for services, and strollers and car seats do not fit in the space. The in-person location is open Tuesday through Friday, and Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays are reserved for weddings.

The salon says it aims to go above and beyond for guests and that it accepts all clients, with inappropriate, racist or rude remarks not tolerated. Continuing education runs throughout the year so that services keep pace with current trends and techniques.
