About

Phoenix Rising Integrative Medicine is an integrative medicine practice in Houston that brings together acupuncture and functional medicine. The clinic is led by Dr. Lori J. Earley, who founded it and serves as clinical director, and it also offers virtual consulting for clients who are not local.

The practice combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with functional medicine to look for the root causes of health concerns. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, it describes its approach as treating the whole person, and it builds a custom protocol for each client.

An initial in-person acupuncture visit lasts 90 minutes and starts with a review of health history, symptoms and goals, followed by a personalized protocol. In-person follow-ups last 45 to 55 minutes. Initial acupuncture visits start at $325 and follow-up visits start at $95. Acupuncture is organized in courses of 12 sessions followed by a re-evaluation. For chronic conditions such as allergies, migraines and fertility concerns, the general recommendation is twice weekly for three weeks, then at least weekly for four to eight weeks. Initial visits can be scheduled online at the Houston location.

The functional medicine program requires a minimum of four months. Its foundational phase addresses nervous system balance, nutrition, diet, lifestyle and organ support, typically over up to three months, and includes a customized blood chemistry and urinalysis panel that must be completed within two weeks of the initial payment. Later phases look at gut and microbiome balance, reducing environmental and toxic load, chronic infections, and detoxing with herbal supplements and binders, followed by a maintenance phase. Fertility care is a four-month protocol combining acupuncture, customized herbal medicine, diet and lifestyle changes, and testing where needed. Men's fertility care includes weekly acupuncture over a three-month window. Personalized plans for chronic illness or autoimmune concerns run four to six months.

The virtual functional medicine program is called the Phoenix Rising Method. Consultations take place in the Central Time Zone, and a missed discovery call cannot be rescheduled. Health consulting is cash pay and is not billed to insurance; the practice does not provide diagnosis or treatment codes and does not communicate with insurance companies, though it accepts Health Savings Accounts and credit cards. Supplements, herbs, lab testing and analysis are extra, and additional labs carry separate fees that vary. Clinic hours are Monday by select availability, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 3pm, and Thursday from 12pm to 6:30pm, with Friday through Sunday closed. Reach the clinic at 713-806-9927 or info@phoenixrisingacu.com.

Combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with functional medicine to trace symptoms to their root causes and build a custom protocol for each client, treating the whole person rather than only symptoms.
