The company says it was founded by a family of salon professionals with more than 75 years of salon industry experience, and its about page names the founders as Jason and Gina. It began expanding in 2012.

Suites are rented on a flexible license agreement with no long-term contracts or leases. The company describes its rent as low and states there are no hidden charges. Rent covers heat, air conditioning, water, electricity and wifi. Each suite comes with its own thermostat and is supplied with equipment and utilities, and occupants may decorate and furnish the space as they like.
