Phenix Salon Suites

Phenix Salon Suites is a boutique salon suite concept with three New Jersey locations in Union, Woodbridge and East Brunswick. It rents private suites to independent salon professionals and other business professionals, so each renter operates a studio of their own. The company says it was founded by a family of salon professionals with more than 85 years of industry experience. Gina Rivera founded the company, and her start was sweeping floors in her parents' salon before she went on to lead a beauty brand.

The company describes itself as the only salon suite or studio concept on Entrepreneur magazine's Top 500 Franchise List and as the recognized leader in the salon suite industry. These are its own claims.

Suites are for licensed professionals in beauty, health and wellness, including hairstylists, barbers, estheticians, nail technicians and massage therapists. Renters set their own services, pricing and schedules. Each suite includes basic equipment: a wash bowl, styling chair, dryer and cabinet for hair suites, or a spa sink for spa suites. Renters can customize and paint their suite.

Most costs are bundled into the lease. All utilities except the renter's phone are included, general liability insurance is part of the rental, and on-site laundry offers free use of commercial washers and dryers. Leases are month to month with no long-term lease required, and free continuing education is offered to renters. Suites have 24/7 access and video surveillance, after-hours security systems are in place, and there is complimentary WiFi for renters and their clients, abundant parking, a break room with a microwave, sink and seating, and a mini-marquee directory so clients can see each renter's services.
