Pelitos Hair Salon

Pelitos Hair Salon has three locations in the Los Angeles area, in Norwalk, Downey and Whittier, and the salons sit near major freeways. The business describes itself as focused on children's haircuts and says it has been creating grooming experiences since 2008. The salon says it has taken part in Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards, and according to the salon, the city of Montebello recognized it as a top-ranking beauty salon for two consecutive years.

The salon says its stylists are trained to work with babies and young children and are experienced in both trendy and traditional hairstyles. Boys' cuts range from short, simple cuts to classic, trendy and designed styles. Girls' services include up-dos, braiding, and color and highlights for girls of all ages. Adult men's and women's haircuts are also available, along with fades, tapers and scissor cuts.

A visit centers on the child's comfort. Each station has animated shows playing, and the chairs are shaped after well-known children's characters. Families can book a Baby's First Haircut Certificate, which includes a keepsake lock of hair, a photo of the visit and a small toy. The salon says the smallest client it has served so far was 14 days old. Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointment is required. Hours are the same at all three locations: Monday to Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 5:30pm, and Sunday 10:00am to 4:30pm.

Pelitos sells its own Safari Kids hair products online, including shampoo, conditioner, mousse, hair gel and detangler, marketed for children with scents and colors. Customers can leave reviews for each location on Yelp or Google.

The salon works with children to keep haircuts relaxed and fun in a safe setting, and it says children's comfort comes first.
